This invention provides the use of Tranilast or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof for the manufacture of a pharmaceutical composition for the treatment or prevention of restenosis associated with coronary intervention. A 600 mg dosage of Tranilast for a treatment period of three consecutive months after coronary intervention lowers the incidence of restenosis, and reduces the degree of stenosis in patients.
