This invention aims to facilitate attaching and positional correction of a protecting member for an unshielded section on an end portion of a shielded electric cable 1 and to enhance wiring of the cable 1.A flexible and insulative protecting tube 10 having a shielding layer 8 on the interior thereof, is axially slit 7 so that the tube 10 can be opened and closed for mounting on the unshielded section on the end portion of the cable 1.A tape 11 is wound around the protecting tube 10 to secure it to the end portion of the cable 1. The cable conductors 2 and drain 3 are attached to connectors 12, 9, and the drain 3 can be diverted through the slit 7 and between laps of the tape 11.
