Method and installation allowing the recreation of accurate images of a region of interest (2) of an object (1) while reducing the errors produced by the contribution from the complement of the object. A first series of measurements in which a conical beam (10) encompasses only the region of interest of the object (2) is complemented with a second series of measurements in which the beam encompasses the whole object. The measurements from the two series are combined so as to make them compatible and obtain a more exact image of the region of interest (2). The invention applies to medical imaging and industrial inspection.
