<p>PURPOSE:To provide a recording fluid which gives an image having a sharp contour and excellent resistance to light and water and has excellent printing characteristics, shelf stability, recording characteristics and quick dryness after printing, containing a water-soluble dye, an aq. medium and a specified quaternary ammonium fluoride, etc. CONSTITUTION:0.2-12% (by weight; the same applies hereinbelow) water-soluble dye (A) such as direct dye, acid dye, etc. (e.g., azo, anthraquinone, indigo, or phthalocyanine dyes) or quaternary ammonium compd. (A) of formula I [wherein D is the residue of a dye; R<1>, R<2> and R<3> are each an (OH-substd.) alkyl; and R<4> is an OH-substd. alkyl] obtd. from said water-soluble dye is blended with 20-89.5% aq. medium (B) composed of water or water and ethylene glycol, etc., 0.5-5% quaternary ammonium fluoride (C) of formula II, and optionally, 0.001-0.01% fluorine-contg. surfactant (D) and 0.5-5% compd. (E) selected from the group consisting of (thio)urea, biuret and semicarbazide. The pH of the mixture is adjusted to 6-8.</p> |
