The tachometer of a road vehicle includes a mileage recorder to log the total distance of the vehicle and a resettable trip recorder for single journeys. The resetting operation for the counter rollers is produced by a lever mechanism (4) that is displaced by a manual input (4). The lever has a circular arc (10) groove that moves relative to a pin (9) and the projecting arms (7,8) forming the groove has lugs (11,12) at the tips. Completion of the reset motion is felt when the pin engages the lugs and generates resistance. USE/ADVANTAGE - Allows tactile indication that reset is complete. Used on road vehicle tachometer.
