PURPOSE:To prevent the peeling of weld metal at the rapping of casting by providing holes on both sides of the inside surface cracked part of the mold and performing build-up welding these opened hole parts and cracked part to connect these. CONSTITUTION:In repairing the crack 2 produced in the inside surface of a mold 1, multiple holes 3 are pierced zigzag or parallel on both sides of the cracked part, after which the boundary of the cracked part and opened hole parts is chipped. If the resultant cavities are build-up-welded and closed, the phenomenon in which the weld metal deposits on casting and peels at the rapping of the mold may be prevented. |
