<p>PURPOSE: To provide an overspeed safety device for a pneumatic drive motor of a simple and compact structure and having a high reliability of actuation. CONSTITUTION: This device comprises a valve element 28 to control supply air by a tripping device, and actuation devices 37, 38 coupled with a rotation part 14 of a motor to be moved from a normal stop position to an actuation position at a predetermined motor speed level by inertial force. It is also provided with an open type spring wire lock ring disposed in a groove of the valve element 28, and a holding device correctly disposed between both ends of the lock ring to hold the lock ring in an expanded condition with an outer diameter larger than an inner diameter of a shoulder of a hole 27. At the time of overspeed, a fly weight 38 contracts the lock ring through a push rod 37, and releases the valve element 28 to be moved to a closed position.</p> |
