PURPOSE:To obtain a pyridine derivative useful as an intermediate for a sublimable dye for heat transfer method, having excellent coloring concentration, clarity, light resistance, safety, etc. CONSTITUTION:A compound of formula I or formula II (Z is atom or atomic group capable of being coupled such as H, NH2, halogen, NO2 or NO; R1 and R2 are H, alkyl, vinyl, allyl, aryl, alkoxyalkyl, aralkyl, alkoxycarbonylalkyl, carboxyalkyl, alkoxycarboxyalkyl or R1 and R2 may form a ring or R1 and R2 may form a ring with X or Y; R3 is OH, halogen, CN, alkyl, alkylformylamino, alkylsulfonylamino, carbamoyl, NH3, COOH, alkoxy, etc.; (n) is 0-3). The compound is coupled with an arbitrary coupler to give dye, which is used to give a heat transfer sheet for providing a clear image which has a sufficient concentration and excellent light resistance. |
