<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the title ink excellent in dryability, processability, etc., by dispersing carbon black in a dispersing medium comprising water and a water-soluble organic solvent with the aid of a surfactant. CONSTITUTION:Water, a water-soluble organic solvent (e.g. isopropanol), a surfactant (e.g. dodecylbenzenesulfonic acid) and carbon black are fed into a dispersing machine such as a ball mill or a roll mill. The carbon black is coated with the surfactant and is then dispersed to produce the title ink suitable for making a thermal stencil sheet for thermal stencil printing. It is also possible to add a polymeric dispersion stabilizer, etc., in order to improve the stability of the dispersion of carbon black and to adjust the viscosity. The obtained ink can give a sheet with good processability because the carbon black can fully absorb infrared rays, and the energy in the form of thermal energy can be fully conducted to the stencil sheet.</p> |
