PAPER TRAY FOR PHOTO-COPIER

PURPOSE: To provide a paper tray for an improved photocopier which is opened automatically. CONSTITUTION: A tray moves along a guide 22. A driving means 32 moves a container from a closed position to an open position L by applying a constant force to the container. The container is mounted on a carriage 20 which is supported by a pair of transport rollers 28 which roll along the guide 22. The rollers 28 are firmly connected together by a shaft 30 and rolls. A locking mechanism is provided to the container. A lever 54 is rotatable on the photocopier to lock the container in the closed position. The lever 54 is coupled with a slide member 60 in which a cam groove is formed. A locking element 55 which engages with the lever 54 is moved so as to release the lever 54 when the container is pushed further into the photocopier to the closed position.
