<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a liquid sensor for pipeline which does not function erroneously and detects liquid correctly when the liquid begins to flow again into the pipe line after temporary exhaustion of the liquid from the pipeline. CONSTITUTION:The liquid sensor being installed on the way of a pipeline in order to detect liquid therein comprises an inlet pipeline 3, an outlet pipeline, a central pipeline 5 of which both ends communicate with the inlet and outlet pipelines 3 and 6, respectively a prism 7 extending in the axial direction of the central pipe line 5 while opposing thereto, and light emitting elements 8, 9 disposed oppositely to the reflecting faces 7b, 7c of the prism 7. When the reflecting faces 7b, 7c are contacting with the air, light emitted from the light emitting element 8 reflects on the reflecting faces 7b, 7c and received by the light receiving element 9. When the reflecting faces 7b, 7c are in contact with a liquid, light emitted from the light emitting element 8 passes through the prism and is not received by the light receiving element 9. Consequently, the central pipeline 5 is formed into a V-groove along the reflecting face of prism.</p> |
