PURPOSE:To improve the drive feeling of a vehicle with a continuously variable transmission during running on a curved road. CONSTITUTION:A change gear ratio (i) between primary and secondary pulleys 26 and 28 is controlled. Running road information (the degree Wd of a curve and weight grade resistance Rw), the objective number NPO of revolutions of primary pulley responding to a throttle opening, an objective number of revolutions of primary pulley lower limit valve NPL set according to running road information, and the objective number NPO of revolutions of primary pulley on which grip processing is applied at the lower limit value NPL are calculated.
