PURPOSE: To make it possible to incorporate a programmable graphics microprocessor into an external memory unit that can easily be attached to, or removed from, a host information processing system. CONSTITUTION: This video game system comprises a host video game system and a plug-in video game cartridge with a built-in graphics microprocessor. The game cartridge includes read-only memory(ROM) and random-access memory (RAM). A graphics common processor is connected, for operation, with 3-bus architecture that is incorporated in the game cartridge, executes a program from a program ROM, external RAM, or the internal cash RAM of its own, and cooperates with a host processor so that the host processor can be accessed all the time. |
