PURPOSE:To synthesize a copper oxide material of an insulator having lattice constants good in match with those of the existing copper oxide-based superconducting substance and further a superconductor. CONSTITUTION:The objective copper oxide material is expressed by a chemical formula AXBYCu2O4+z (values of X, Y and Z are 0.9<=X<=1.1; 0.9<=Y<=1.1 and 0.0<=Z<=0.6) and has a crystal structure belonging to the tetragonal crystal system (P4/mmm, I-123) and lattice constants defined by 3.8<=(a)<=4.0 and 7.6<=(c)<=8.0. In this material, one layer of a cationic site A (1) occupied by atoms of groups IA, IIA, IIIA and lanthanoid-based atoms and one layer of cationic site A (2) occupied by atoms different from those occupying the cationic site A (1) are alternately present between the adjacent Cu2O faces and the crystal structural factors thereof are A (1):1a, A(2):1b, Cu:2h and O:4i. Furthermore this material provides a superconductor especially in the case of (z)=0.4, (a)=3.93 and (c)=7.77. |
