PURPOSE:To improve the dispersibility, fluidity and workability of cement by hydrolyzing a protein with a microbial strain capable of forming lactic acid. CONSTITUTION:A protein of soybean, wheat, etc., is incorporated with a nutrient for the proliferation of microorganisms such as soluble starch and maltase. A microbial strain capable of producing lactic acid and consisting of one or plural kinds of strains such as Streptococcus faecium and Leuconostoc mesenteroides is added to the mixture to obtain a proliferation solution. The solution is maintained at 0-60 deg.C taking care of not to be contaminated with saprophytic bacteria. The protein is hydrolyzed by the process to obtain a composition containing polypeptides and amino acids. The composition is incorporated with 0.01-1wt.% of an antibacterial agent such as 3-methyl-4-chlorophenol which is a nucleus-substituted chlorophenol (alkali salt) and, as necessary, with a dye or pigment such as auramine and a smell-masking flavor to obtain the objective surface active composition suitable as an admixture for cement. |
