The supporting structure 21 consists of conventional parts of a scaffolding system, and special stepped flanking elements 30 which serve for the support of gangplanks 23 and seats 22 and for the connection of handrails 24. The flanking elements 30 preferably comprise horizontal bearers between two perpendicular tube pieces 40.1, 40.2. The bearers are connected to each other in the centre of the element 30 by a vertical connecting component, and are spaced apart in height in accordance with the pitch of the stand.
