PURPOSE:To arrange graphic areas in a document generation area so that they are fine in appearances. CONSTITUTION:When the graphic area Z'1-Z'12 of a figure and a photograph set in the document preparing area are generated, reference lines L1 and L2 for arranging the graphic areas Z'1-Z'12 are set in the document preparing area and an instruction for arranging the generated graphic areas Z'1-Z'12 in the document preparing area is given, a position relation between the reference lines L1 and L2 and the generated graphic areas Z'1-Z'12 is obtained by the instruction, and the graphic areas Z'1-Z'12 are arranged so that they follow the reference lines L1 and L2 based on the position relation. Thus, the figure and the photograph are arranged in the document preparing area so that they follow the reference line which is arbitrarily set and the document of a look-nice layout can easily be prepared. |
