<p>PURPOSE: To effectively operate a mobile device which has an asynchronous transfer mode(ATM) network. CONSTITUTION: The effective operation of a mobile device having an asynchronous transfer mode(ATM) network requests quick changes in its movement assigned. When such changes of the assignment request network switching, a response time becomes too long. Another technology used here is what a permanent virtual path which is applied to the entire ATM network between a base station in a prescribed area and an interface point of a fixed network is set up. In this area, a virtual channel identifier(VCI) is given global meaning and used for specifying a call. This ATM network can be replaced by a network of a private line.</p> |
