<p>PURPOSE:To store polished rice keeping the quality of just after the threshing, without oxidation and yellowing, by putting a piece of solid alcohol in a rice chest, therby diffusing the evaporated alcohol into the chest. CONSTITUTION:Polished rice is charged into a rice chest 1, and a cylindrical container containing a piece of solid alcohol 3 is put into the rice chest 1. The vessel 2 containing the solid alcohol is provided with a number of perforations 5 through which the vaporized alcohol vapor is diffused into the rice chest. The alcohol vapor prevents the oxidation and yellowing of the polished rice. The solid alcohol may be impregnated in a resin, clay, ceramics, etc.</p> |
