PURPOSE:To provide the thin-film magnetic head which can deal with high frequencies necessary for high-density recording and can stabilize recording and reproducing by constituting magnetic core layers which are not decreased in magnetic permeability even with the high frequency and are suppressed in such irreversible phenomenon of magnetic wall transfer. CONSTITUTION:An upper magnetic core 7 and lower magnetic core 2 laminated holding a magnetic gap 3 therebetween are constituted of multilayered thin films alternately laminated with magnetic thin films 21 and nonmagnetic thin films 22. The multilayered thin films are constituted of the magnetic thin films 21 of even layers having equal film thicknesses, by which the magnetic cores 2, 7 are made into a single magnetic domain structure. The thin-film magnetic head having the high magnetic permeability even at the high frequency and having the good high-frequency characteristics is obtd. and the high-recording density is attained. |
