PURPOSE:To automatically open or close an original pressing means by judging/ specifying a user out of persons approaching a device or the person finished to use out of the persons leaving from the device. CONSTITUTION:An image forming device 5 has an original placing means, the original pressing plate, an original reading means, a detecting means detecting the presence of an object approaching within a prescribed range in the vicinity of the device 5 or leaving therefrom, and a recognizing/judging device 3 judging whether the object whose approaching is detected uses the device or not or the object whose leaving is detected is finished to use or not, based on a detection signal from the detecting signal. It is judged that the approaching or leaving of the object detected by the recognizing/judging device 3 is the approaching for using the device 5 or the leaving after the completion of using, the original pressing means is opened or closed with respect to an original placing surface. |
