PURPOSE:To prevent the backward movement of a vehicle at the time of a start on a slope by equipment which is inexpensive and does not cast an electri cal burden on an electric motor. CONSTITUTION:When a hybrid powered vehicle is set in a motor drive mode and a start on a slope is to be made, an on-slope start control part 62b switches over a solenoid valve 60 and turns a brake B ON on the basis of signals from a rotation speed sensor 63b and others. Then a sun gear S is locked. When the vehicle is to move backward at the time of the start on the slope and such a force as to rotate an output shaft 25 in the reverse direction is transmitted from a drive wheel, the force is transmitted to a pinion P through a ring gear R to rotate a carrier CR. However, since a one-way clutch F is interposed between the carrier CR and the sun gear S and the sun gear S is in a locked state, the carrier CR does not rotate and, consequently, the output shaft 25 does not rotate. |
