PURPOSE:To catch particles incidental to a particle detector almost correctly by forming a chamber light in weight, and enlarging a cross sectional surface of a detection part. CONSTITUTION:A particle detector 21 comprises a chamber 22 in which inactive gas 6 is enclosed, and a thin wire 5 penetrating the inside of the chamber 22. Incidental particles are detected by ionization of the inactive gas 6 by them. The chamber 22 is formed of honeycomb plate materials. The chamber 22 has a rectangular cross sectional surface. Transmission rate of the particles can thus be set large, so the number of the particles contributing to the ionization of the inactive gas in the chamber can be increased, thereby detection sensitivity can be improved.
