The metal grill is made up of two parts (2,3) assembled together in a manner to form two surfaces separated by a gap. Each one contains an edge (22,32) surrounding at least part of the structure. These edges are lined up one with the other and clamped together by folding them over, the many anchorage points on the edges (22,32) contained in the segment of the metal wire make local projections which penetrate into the mesh of the other part of the structure. The structure is slightly pyramid in shape to allow for expansion due to temperature and bossing of the surfaces of each part (2,3) adds to the rigidity of the unit. Use/Advantage - As a metallic grill acting as a radiant surface fitted between the gas burner and the cooking surface of a barbecue unit which structurally adapts itself to temperature change and prevents the gas flame from reaching the food being barbecued.
