The invention relates to a device for longitudinal connection for a metal roof covering with brackets and cover-plates which are not clamped, in which open clamps which are curved inwards and upwards extend over the entire length of the cover-plate element (4), with the exception of the male end portion (12), in order to form grooves for receiving a male end portion (12) of another cover-joint element (4); the gussets formed by folding a heel (15) being turned down against the inner face of the heel (15) thus formed; a head collar being clamped to the free end of a head cover-plate element (4c).
