PURPOSE:To shorten the time required from the time of the action of a distributed data base retrieval processing for retrieving the contents of a data base which one processor has, from the other processor through a communication circuit, to the time of start of using the data base. CONSTITUTION:The system is constituted of a server system 11 consisting of a data base transmitting means 115 for copying a data base, a retrieval request receiving/transmitting means 114 operated in parallel thereto an a server data base retrieval processing means 113, and a client system 12 consisting of a data base receiving means 125, a retrieval request transmitting/receiving means 124 operated in parallel thereto and a data base retrieval processing means 123 for retrieving a copied data base, and a retrieval request distributing means 127 for distributing a retrieval request from a terminal to two means 123, 124 by a completion state of a copy of the data base.
