The support is a thin strip of natural rubber which is coated on its front and back surfaces with textile fibres. These are flocked, and the strip is applied to the back of the fabric to which the brooch is pinned. The metallic pin adheres to the rubber of the strip. The thickness of the strip is between 0.5 mm and 1 mm and it is 10 cm long and 5 cm wide. The strip distributes the weight of the brooch and keeps it balanced. USE/ADVANTAGE - To fix pin of brooch or clasp while preventing damage to fabric.
