PURPOSE:To enable a prescribed initial ball to be automatically formed by a method wherein the diameter data of a required initial ball are inputted through a keyboard execution switch. CONSTITUTION:When the diameter data of an initial ball are inputted through a keyboard execution switch 9. a control circuit 8 takes out combinations of a control signal i which controls a discharge current and a control signal t which controls a discharge period referring to a data table 10, and the extracted combinations are fed to an analog computer 7 and a switching circuit 5. The output of the analog computer 7 which receives the control signal i is expotentially converted through a cubic conversion circuit 6 and inputted into the switching circuit 5. The switching circuit 5 which has received a control signal t controls a discharge period. By this setup, a discharge energy required for forming an initial ball set by the keyboard execution switch 9 is fed to the tip of a wire 12 projected from a capillary 13. |
