The tensioning pulley is mounted on a base-plate (2) and has a pivot mounting via an eccentric fitting. A spiral spring (3) is attached to the base-plate with one end and to the pulley assembly with the other end. Curved damping elements (14) are mounted on the pulley assembly and are set between the turns of the spiral spring. The damping elements are set into grooves in the pulley and are spaced around the spring. For maximum damping effect the damping elements are inserted into the outer turns. The pulley assembly components are welded together for a secure fitting. USE/ADVANTAGE - Accessory drive for automobile engines. Allows free pivot action for tensioner.
