The brake relay valve is for a trailer attached to a vehicle. It has a second piston formed as a ring piston (44). The ring piston has, on the side directed towards the reaction chamber (32), a radially inwardly projecting stop or ledge (56) for the control piston (12). A pretensioned compression spring (46), supported on the housing body (2), engages the side of the ring piston directed away from the reaction chamber. USE/ADVANTAGE - Relay valve for compressed air braking system allows a reduced pressure increase when operating with higher control pressures, without increasing the size of the relay valve.
