The shovel is for loose material such as small items or heaped material. On part of its inside surface is a heavy movable lining (4). When the shovel is tipped for dumping, this lifts under gravity off the inner surface of the shovel to aid material discharge. The lining can consist of bars or chains, covering only the inside wall opposite the shovel mouth, and being secured to the shovel only at a point near the tipping axis. USE/ADVANTAGE - Gentle handling of loose material, there being no need to shake the shovel to discharge it completely.
