Wheel accelerator for aircraft landing gear - uses structure acting on wheel periphery to accelerate it to landing peripheral velocity

A structure (21) having different resistance values (CW1) according to the relative position of slipstream attach during the landing approach, generates a resulting air force (L). This acts as a peripheral force on the wheel. Thus the peripheral force is accelerated to a peripheral velocity (a), corresp. to the latter rolling motion during landing. USE/ADVANTAGE - The accelerator is intended for aircraft landing approach for preventing excessive type abrasion during landing, and for reducing the ground contact impact.
