The refrigeration machine (1) has a cylinder (2) containing a piston (3) which forces a working gas through a throttle. The cylinder is fully encapsulated, the reciprocation movement controlled from outside the cylinder via a magnetic device. Pref. the latter comprises several external permanent magnets (11,12) cooperating with a permanent magnet (5) incorporated in the piston, one after the other, when the support for the permanent magnets is rotated. USE - Suitable for domestic refrigerator or cold store.
