The vibration, bending and expansion reabsorbing pipe is for an IC engine. It connects an exhaust bend with a catalytic convertor, and has a hydrostatically formed inlet pipe (10). This is essentially unbroken over a series of differing curves, and has an oval cross-section with its short cross-sectional axis (y) located in the bending direction. The curved region of the pipe has a number of different radii and is curved in several different planes. The ovality of the cross-section is variable.
