In the appts. for spinning a yarn from sliver, with a pneumatic twister directly after the drawing unit, the twisting section (2) of the pneumatic unit is shorter than the injector section (1). The twisting section (2) length is set to form a yarn coil.Pref., the injector section (1) has a constant and cylindrical inner dia. (A). The expanding inner dia. (D) of the twisting section (2) is equal to or smaller than the inner dia. (A) of the injector section (1). The expanded inner dia. (D) of the twisting section (2) is 2.2-2.8 mm, with a ratio directly after the shoulder to a length (L) of 1:6 to 1:]6. The gap between the air entry drillings and the shoulder shaped expansion is equal to or less than the shoulder height (c) of the twister section (2), at 0.5 mm or less. The axis projection of the air entry drillings form a right angle (beta) to the axis of the twister section (2) and an angle (alpha) of about 30 deg. to the axis of the injector section (1). The air entry drilling opens at a tangent to the interior (12) of the injector (1) and/or twister (2) section, with a displaced alignment, outwards. Three or more air entry drillings (10,11), and pref. four or more, are located equidistantly round the circumference of the injector (1) and/or twister (2) section. The width of the sliver from the drawing unit is wider than the inner dia. (A) of the injector section (1).
