A road vehicle braking system has a brake servo unit (3) mounted directly onto the vehicle bulkhead (20) near to the foot pedal (8) mounting point (19). The servo unit has a control stage housing (6) with input provided by an actuator rod (7) coupled to brake pedal connection (9). The rod is enclosed by a protective bellows (15). The other side of the brake unit has the main brake cylinder stage (2) in a housing (4). The brake pedal coupling provides a direct axial connection with pivot point distance (a) smaller than the distance (b) to the end of the housing. USE/ADVANTAGE - Reduces overall length of brake unit.
