<p>A method of inspecting a security document having an area which presents a characteristic appearance when illuminated under non-visible radiation and which, in use, carries one or more visible graphical characters. The method comprises illuminating the area under the non-visible radiation to derive data defining the appearance of the area; comparing the data with reference data; and indicating the result of the comparison.</p> |
