A device for enriching water with CO2 gas in order to generate carbonated water has a reservoir which is provided in the area of its walls with cooling pipes of a cooling circuit for cooling its content and for forming an ice envelope (9) in the area of its walls. Carbonated and cooled water taken out of the reservoir is replaced by fresh water. The spraying openings (14) of the water supply pipe arranged in the top space of the reservoir are oriented towards the lateral walls in the area of the generated ice envelope.
