In the case of a linear drive for use in the field of aviation and space flight, it is envisaged that an electric motor, an armature and a coupling which connects the armature to the electric motor are provided, the coupling being constructed as a flexible connecting means which can be deflected and positions the armature. The coupling is driven in the region of its extent facing the electric motor via a rotating guide means, and is stressed by a deflection means in the region of its extent facing away from the guide means. The coupling changes its movement direction in the region of the deflection means.
