A device (1) for separating water (W) from steam (D) of a water-steam mixture has two collectors (2. 3) horizontally arranged at different heights andinterconnected by a connecting pipe (6). Besides the connecting pipe (6), the lower first collector (2) has an inlet pipe (8) for the water-steam mixture as well as a water outlet pipe (10) for the separated water (W). The overlying second collector (3) has besides the connecting pipe (6) a steam outlet pipe (14) for the separated steam (D). This device (1), which works on the basis of the principle of gravity separation, is particularly elastic from a thermal point of view and therefore ensures a reliable operation even at high temperature gradients.
