The three-position gear-shifting cylinder for remote control of motor vehicle mechanical gearboxes is equipped with three pressure media feeds (16,17,18) for controlling the movement of two identical annular pistons {8), which shift, to the extent limited by stops, in the cylinder (15) in axially shifting arresting notches (22) equipped with the gearshift rod (1), on which there is firmly attached spacer sleeve (2) with the first collar (4) on its front and behind it a unidirectional oriented guide sleeve (3) and with the second collar (5) on its front. The spacer sleeve (2) is borne by the first collar (4) on the offset (24) of the gearshift rod (1) and the guide sleeve (3) is borne by the second collar (5) on the spacer sleeve (2). On the front faces (9) the pistons have a recess (10), whose depth (A) is greater than half the width (B) of the collars (4,5) of the sleeves (2,3). The sleeves (2,3) are fixed to the gearshift rod (1) by means of a circumferential offset (24) and shaft nuts (6) with stop plate (7) on it.<IMAGE>
