The subject of the invention is a device for triggering the firing of a small-calibre or medium-calibre firearm (1). It comprises a sighting glass (8), an infrared detector (14) supplying an electrical signal, an electronic triggering assembly (21,26) controlling the firing, and means (17) for supplying electrical energy. The electronic means (21) is associated with a percussion ignition by means of an electromagnet (26) connected to the striker of the firearm.
