An improved decantation centrifuge is claimed in which a drum (2) and an endless screw (3) are arranged inside a housing (1). Some openings (7,8) are provided to evacuate the decanted liq. and the solid materials. In order to reduce the content of residual water in the highly dispersed solid materials, a collector (15) is arranged beneath the drum (2) to bring hot gases into contact. A manifold (16) is provided on the upper part of the housing for the evacuation of gases. Some openings (17,18) and some directing blades (19,20) are provided to facilitate the entry and egress of hot gases. These blades (19,20) are, on the lower front face of the inner body (11), inclined in the sense of rotation of the drum (2) and, on the upper front face of the outer body (12), inclined in a sense opposed to that of the rotation of the drum (2). The centrifuge pref. includes a heating jacket or a filter component allied with a condenser or vacuum pumping system.
