HUMAN SPERM MEMBRANE ANTIGEN PEPTIDE AND DNA ENCODING THE SAME

PURPOSE:To provide a new DNA encoding a new human sperm membrane antigen peptide which is useful as an antigen for contraceptive vaccine and for immunoassay of the antigen in the serum of sterile patients. CONSTITUTION:DNA containing the base sequence of the formula or its fragment. A mammalian animal is immunized with the membrane antigen-containing fraction extracted from human sperm to collect the antibody-producing cells. The cells are fused with myeloma cells and the cells reacting with human sperm membrane antigen and has the action to immobilize sperm are screened and cloned so that the hybridoma producing anti human sperm monoclonal antibody is established. The monoclonal antibody collected from the culture mixture is used to effect cloning the gene encoding the corresponding antigen from the human sperm CDNA library.
