<p>PURPOSE:To ensure that a radioative rare gas it treated efficiently at a low pressure loss and thereby a radioative level is reduced by making a device compact and using an easy-to-handle or -replace adsorbent. CONSTITUTION:The adsorbent is composed of a wavy sheet adsorbent 6a consisting of a sintered active carbon and a flat sheet adsorbent 6b, with a flow path 7 formed between these adsorbents. The adsorbents 6a, 6b are formed by thermally pressing a blend of an active carbon of carbon fiber and a fibrous sintering binder and sintering the obtained compact. The density of the adsorbent composed of the sintered sheets is 0.4 to 1.0g/cm<3>, and the thickness is about 0.05to 5mm. The adsorbent 6 is appropriately used on a gas holdup device for treating a radioative rare gas in an exhaust gas from an atomic power plant.</p> |
