PURPOSE: To provide a method for accurately and rapidly determining an optimum temperature prevailing inside a high temperature oven for heating traveling yarn in the treatment of a synthetic yarn by a high temperature treatment method. CONSTITUTION: A temperature inside a high temperature oven for treating synthetic yarns is determined by the formulaθ=aV+b (θis a temperature deg.C inside the oven, (a) denote a linear variation coefficient which is a function of a count of the yarn, V is a traveling speed m/min of the yarn inside the oven and (b) denotes a correction constant which is a function of the count of the yarn) depending on a material of the yarn, the count of the yarn and the traveling speed of travel of the yarn in the oven.
