PURPOSE:To provide a carbonizing method for pitch containing refractory suppressed in the flow-out or blow-off of a impregnated pitch at the time of firing the pitch containing refractory and improved in the yield of fixing at the time of carbonizing the pitch. CONSTITUTION:A baking furnace 1 in which the pitch containing refractory is charged is evacuated, pressurized up to 4-20kg/cm<2> with an inert gas and heated slowly up to 400-700 deg.C while spending a long time by the use of a heating device 4 to hold the furnace 4 at the temp. for a specified time and is cooled slowly. |
