PURPOSE:To industrially advantageously obtain the subject compound useful as a substitute for fluorocarbon 12 by reacting trichloroethylene with hydrogen fluoride to give a reaction mixture, removing hydrogen chloride from the mixture and reacting the resultant substance with hydrogen fluoride. CONSTITUTION:Trichloroethylene is reacted with hydrogen fluoride in a vapor phase to give 1,1,1-trifluorochloroethane (R-133a), from which hydrogen chloride is removed. Then R-133a is further reacted with hydrogen fluoride to give 1,1,1,2- tetrafluoroethane (R-134a). Or trichloroethylene is reacted with hydrogen fluoride in a vapor phase to give R-133a, from which hydrogen chloride is removed. Then R-133a is further reacted with hydrogen fluoride in a vapor phase to give R-134a. 1,1-Difluorochloroethylene contained in R-134a is fluorinated in a vapor phase, converted into R-133a, then hydrogen chloride as a by product is removed and R-133a is recycled to the second process of the system. |
