PURPOSE: To provide a method and its device devised for quickly stopping impact operation when an excessive pressure is generated, and moreover so as to manage with a simple constitution. CONSTITUTION: When hydraulic pressure which is introduced into a pressure chamber 23 of a press cylinder 21 is an excessive pressure which exceeds a prescribed pressure, the punching operation of a shear plate 47 by a shear piston 35 and the releasing operation of the excessive pressure by the shear piston 35 are executed by the excessive pressure.
