PURPOSE:To provide the subject film which is excellent in abrasion resistance, does not form any abrasion powder of film during calendering and is excellent in scratch resistance. CONSTITUTION:This biaxially oriented film is made from a polyester comprising an acid component based on an aromatic dicarboxylic acid and at least one glycol component and contains 100-20000ppm fine inert inorganic compound particles having a mean particle diameter of 0.01-1.0mum and a Mohs hardness of 5 or above, 100-20000ppm fine inert inorganic compound particles of a mean particle diameter of 0.1-2.0mum and a Mohs hardness of 2.5 to below 5, and 100-20000ppm fine inert inorganic compound particles of a mean particle diameter of 0.1-5.0mum and a Mohs hardness of below 2.5.
